SCope of Work

TRUGRP completed a comprehensive parking garage restoration project in Mississauga, addressing significant structural, waterproofing, and durability concerns while keeping the facility operational for residents. The work required a coordinated approach to concrete repairs, waterproofing, drainage upgrades, and safety enhancements across multiple areas of the garage.

TRUGRP completed this parking garage in 4 phases to maintain operation and reduce the number of cars requiring relocation per phase. We worked with the property to reduce impacts to the residents throughout the project.

The Process

The scope included removal of existing overburden and failed waterproofing systems, followed by installation of a new waterproofing membrane and expansion joint to protect the garage roof slab against future water infiltration. Extensive concrete restoration was carried out on slabs, soffits, walls, columns, and stairwells, ranging from minor spall repairs to through-slab and edge reconstruction. Additional reinforcing steel was installed where required, ensuring long-term structural resilience.

To improve drainage and water management, TRUGRP installed new bi-level drains, metal drain piping, and electrical heat tracing, while also replacing catch basins and tying new systems into the existing infrastructure. Site enhancements included new asphalt paving, stall line repainting, new precast stairs, and upgraded railings for improved safety and accessibility.

The project also featured localized slab-on-grade replacements, chemical crack injection at foundation walls, and the application of a thin-system waterproofing membrane on suspended stairs and landings. By combining technical precision with careful phasing, TRUGRP delivered a full garage restoration that extended the life of the structure, improved safety for users, and safeguarded the property against future water damage.
